Ah balance…it’s truly the essence of life. Without it, things just don’t feel right. This same rule applies to our hair, as it does with just about anything! Try as we might to grow out our hair using oils and supplements and whatnot, the absolute best way to increase hair growth is striking the perfect protein moisture balance.
If not then take it here! You need to take the quiz to know which porosity you are, then you will know how much protein and moisture you need to achieve the seemingly elusive “protein – moisture balance”.
So guys, if you need protein, of course, you know, I’m going to recommend my ride or die, which is henna. Henna is one of those amazing treatments that you can put into the hair, which will literally rebuild and reconstruct in areas of weakness and damage.
In case you didn’t know Belle Bar Organic actually has an Henna Gloss. I love the fact that it’s got marshmallow root just to help with the pliability and your ability to actually work the henna through the hair. It’s got avocado oil, loads of loads of good stuff, but it’s got that Henna at the core and that is basically going to really rebuild and strengthen your hair but not to the point where you’re going to go to the other extreme. That’s what you’re trying to get that balance. You don’t want to go in a hair treatment that is going to take you from being overly moisturized to protein overload.

I would recommend Cassia as well, henna builds and deposits on hair over time, which is why you would get a reddish tint. Cassia does, but not to the same extent. Cassia definitely has a more of a conditioning element to it and not just gung ho strength.
I would also say that you could look at using something like flax. Flax is an amazing protein and it is a great alternative to the traditional egg protein treatments that people used to use. It’s got essential fatty acids, fat-soluble vitamins and it is really, really good for the hair.
Fenugreek has loads of trace elements like iron and magnesium and zinc, which is fantastic for hair growth, but also it contains amino acids. Now I love the fact that it contains amino acids.
Imagine protein molecules like a beaded necklace, like a really long beaded necklace. Your hair shaft has only got room for three beads along to get in if you have that long protein chain is not actually going to penetrate into your hair, into the core of your hair and rebalance it. So with fenugreek is actually got amino acids that are smaller chains or even monomers, which are single-unit molecules that are able to actually get into the hair shaft.
So I love the fact that nature is literally giving you proteins that can actually penetrate into your hair. So that’s why I absolutely adore fenugreek. Fenugreek guys caught to my routine like seriously from the day if you didn’t know.

Another ingredient I would highly recommend if you have high porosity hair is definitely rice or rice water. Now it works really well for all different hair porosities, but especially well if you have high porosity because it acts as a protein. It contains amino acids, it helps with the restoration and the building of the hair structure, which really does help to rebuild in areas of damage.
