STEP FOUR: INSTRUCTIONS

MOISTURIZE AND SEAL

Begin by reading about the LOC and the LCO methods. This is extremely important to ensure that you follow methods for your porosity. Choose your next step based on whether you are high porosity or low porosity.

LOC and LCO are two methods of moisturizing the hair that help keep moisture locked into place. They’re also an easy guide to remembering the steps of applying your hair products. The two methods are meant to maximize moisture retention after washing the hair, which can be very drying for some of us. Isn’t it so nice that someone was able to come up with not one, but two, ways for curly heads to moisturize their hair?? The jury, however, is still out on which one is “better.”

LOC

Best for high porosity hair

LOC stands for Liquid-Oil-Cream. The LOC method is very popular amongst the curly-haired crowd and will probably always be the first result that pops up when you Google “how to moisturize curly hair.” This order works best for high porosity types because the oil in the second step is able to penetrate the hair deeply, while the cream seals everything into place.

Only use the Strengthening Tea Rinse up to 3x per week on alternate days. On the other alternate days use distilled water, aloe vera juice, rose water etc… Nothing that says strengthening.

LCO

Best for low porosity hair

LCO stands for Liquid-Cream-Oil. The LCO method is said to work much better on low porosity hair types because it won’t weigh down the hair as much as the LOC method can.

Low Porosity – Only use the Strengthening Tea Rinse up to 1x per week, other than wash day, on alternate days. On the other alternate days use distilled water, aloe vera juice, rose water, etc… Nothing that says strengthening.

Everyone’s hair is different and everyone’s hair is going to react to products differently. Test out both and see which one works best on your hair! You might be surprised!

HERE ARE THE DIRECTIONS FOR MAKING AND APPLYING ( REMEMBER TO APPLY IN ORDER OF YOUR POROSITY)

SECTION HAIR INTO SIX SECTION. TAKE EACH SECTION ONE BY ONE AND APPLY YOUR MOISTURE METHOD.

LIQUID TEA RINSE

Strengthening Tea – Do not use more than 2-3x times a week after Wash Day. Do not be fooled by this light tea rinse. She packs a punch and adds a lot of strength to your hair!

  1. Brew 1.5 teaspoon of tea in a provided teabag to 8oz water.
  2. Once warm ( but not hot), pour tea water into a spray bottle, mist curls to refresh.
  3. Brew a new batch of tea water every week.
  4. Section hair into six twists or more if hair is shorter
  5. Spray the Tea Rinse on the scalp and massage it in
  6. Spray on your hair strands, hair should be slightly damp not wet
  7. Squeeze the tea into your hair from root to tip intently
  8. Perform this on all sections

Tip: Steep tea overnight for added benefits. However, this does make it stronger so use with caution

Must: Brew a new batch of tea water every week., and KEEP THE SPRAY BOTTLE IN THE REFRIGERATOR. THERE ARE NO PRESERVATIVES SO THE SHELF LIFE IS VERY SHORT. Up to 7 days.
